my foray into blogdom (take 2)

well, it turns out that my first attempt at coming into the world of blogging came up short of my expectations. i have nothing against the original site i chose (not really my choosing, more of a recommendation from a friend and what i’ve seen other people use), but one of the most important features i was looking for in a blogging site is the ability to categorize my postings – not just for easier browsing but also for organizing my posts. hence, take 2, even though this is not the official foray. here’s the original post (copied from my inferior site):

welcome to my blog. this blog has been a story 9 months in the making. i actually own two domain names which i intend to keep, but i have one friend (you know who you are) to thank for encouraging me to start this blog. in fact, this friend will probably be “first reader” (kinda like first post in slashdot, except reading, not posting). long story short, i had high hopes of creating a unique website for blogging, but have succumbed to goofing off – so much so that 9 month’s worth of posting has been lost. no sense in enumerating all the if only’s for that time. let’s look forward with anticipation as to what i will remember, what i’ll have time to post about, and what i’ll think about in the posts to come! it is with great joy that i make my foray into blogdom a week before the celebration of our nation’s birth. happy reading everyone, and happy blogging birthday to me!
